This LOTO course is suitable for anyone who works with or around machinery or equipment that could pose a hazardous energy risk., including managers, supervisors, full-time and part-time employees. The course is designed at an introductory level and so no pre-requisite training or knowledge is required.

This Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO) course emphasizes the importance of workplace safety by equipping learners with the knowledge to identify and control potential hazards associated to performing LOTO.

The course covers not only the legislative requirements, responsibilities of stakeholders, the importance of training and communication as well as the key components of an effective energy control programme to protect our employees who are directly and indirectly involved in works that require LOTO to be applied while at work.

Classroom training with virtual interactive activities

Assessment & Certification

  • Online Assessment is taken on completion of the training. It consists of 20 multiple choice questions with a pass mark of 80%.
  • Certificate of Attendance will be awarded for participant who:
    • With 100% attendance; and
    • Passing the assessment criteria

By the end of this training, learners will be able to:

  • Understand what is “lock-out-tag-out” and when it is required in the workplace.

  • Understand the importance of the periodic inspection and audit of the ECP.
  • Know and be able to list and describe the basic steps in the lock-out-tag-out process.
  • Know the procedure for release from lock-out-tag-out.
  • Know the group lock-out-tag-out process, and requirements during shift change.
