This course will instil learners with the knowledge and be equipped with the application skills in measuring and assessing contaminants at the workplace. This includes identifying sources of hazardous substances, implementing control measures and managing the associated risks.

Persons who successfully completed this unit of competency will be recognised as ‘competent persons” for the control of hazardous substances at the workplace by the Ministry of Manpower. This competency unit also covers the knowledge to control and manage hazardous substances as required by the National Environment Agency, for the fulfilment of their duties as hazardous substances licence holders.

This is one of the Occupational Hygiene Professionals modules in the WSQ Framework that leads to the award of the WSQ Statement of Attainment.

Pre-Requisites

  • Employability Skill Level Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Level 6; or Grade C6 in GCE ‘O’ Level for English, Maths and Science

         AND

  • Recognised Technical/Engineering Diploma or Grade C6 in GCE ‘O’ Level Science (Chemistry)

Part 2: Individual Written Assessment Project

Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be issued to participants who attend the course and attain COMPETENT for the assessments.
